I started drinking again after having a long conversation with him about it, and only do it every once and a while, but every time I do he gets very upset, acts stoically and generally seems betrayed.

He has a family history with alcohol, doesnt drink himself, and initially I respected his wishes because that made sense to me and I genuinely love him, but after a year of having to defend him to my family and friends I felt like it was too much.
